About Mark Thoreson

Mark Thoreson is the founder and lead instructor of Western Carolina Firearms Training in Hayesville, North Carolina.Mark provides firearms safety instruction, concealed-carry training, skills-development programs, and women-focused shooting classes for students throughout western North Carolina and north Georgia. He teaches from a dedicated classroom facility in Hayesville and through partnerships with Cherokee Guns in Murphy, North Carolina, as well as multiple regional range facilities.Mark is an active member of the Clay County Sheriff's Auxiliary and regularly volunteers his time in support of firearms qualification and training activities for local law-enforcement personnel.Known for his practical teaching style and emphasis on safety, Mark has helped students develop confidence, competence, and responsible firearms handling skills.

Western Carolina Firearms Training is proud to support responsible firearms education throughout the rural mountain communities of Clay County and Cherokee County, North Carolina, as well as nearby Union County and Towns County, Georgia.Western Carolina Firearms Training supports local law enforcement training efforts and regularly assists with qualification activities involving Clay County and Cherokee County law enforcement personnel.He also serves as a member of the Clay County Sheriff’s Auxiliary.
